It is Elayne LaPorta's wish that the net proceeds from the sale of her artwork be donated to Odyssey House of Nevada and its affiliate, Odyssey House of Utah, and to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada.

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada has been in operation for more than 62 years. This organization is dedicated to helping those who are less fortunate.

Catholic Charities continues to be one of the largest private nonprofit social service providers in the state. Today the agency encompasses many diverse programs which provide a wide range of social services designed to help people - from infants to seniors. Catholic Charities strives toward the goal of each individual gaining self-sufficiency, independence, and dignity.

In order to promote their mission, Catholic Charities employs more than 350 full time and part-time employees and utilizes volunteers whenever possible.

Catholic Charities has only one focus: To give help and hope to people in need, regardless of race, religion or creed.

About Odyssey House

Odyssey House, a private non-profit organization, has been providing substance abuse education, prevention, and treatment services for adults, adolescents, and parents with dependent children in the Salt Lake City area for close to forty years.

Odyssey House employs a unique model of treatment, the Therapeutic Community, a model that not only addresses addiction and the co-occurring conditions that pre-existed or that aggravated the substance abuse including mental illness, depression, lack of job skills, lack of an education, and the basic lack of social skills required to thrive within a community. are targeted to low and middle-income families who could not otherwise afford treatment services.

The ultimate goal of the Odyssey House program is to help clients become productive, self-sufficient members of the community, and to provide intervention in the cycle of multi-generational addiction, child abuse, and neglect. The Odyssey House philosophy is that by working together we can make a positive difference in these peoples' lives, and in our community.

Odyssey House of Nevada, in collaboration with Odyssey House of Utah have instituted a scholarship fund for the Southern Nevada residents to obtain substance abuse treatment.
